Financial Considerations
Private health insurance

In Australia, counsellors are not covered by Medicare, which means a GP referral is unnecessary to utilize my services. Clients are free to self-refer to any psychotherapy and counselling services I offer. As a private practice, I am registered with Bupa, Doctors Health Fund, Grand United (GU), and the Australian Regional Health Group (ARHG). ARHG members include Police Health Fund, Phoenix Health, CUA Health (Telehealth only), St Luke's Health, Emergency Services Health Fund, Westfund, Teachers Union Health, GMHBA, and AIA. If you're affiliated with a private health fund, you may be eligible for a rebate for counselling and psychotherapy services, depending on your coverage level. For more information, I recommend contacting your private health insurer to discern the benefits you may have.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Upon booking an appointment, that slot is reserved exclusively for you. Given the limited client capacity per day, insufficiently notified cancellations or rescheduling will incur a fee.
• No fee will be charged for cancellations given 48 hours notice.
• 50% of the session fee will be billed for cancellations made the day prior or after the reminder text is sent.
• Full session fees apply for non-attendance or same-day cancellations.
• Repeated cancellations or non-payment of the cancellation fee may result in the discontinuation of services.
• Credit card details are kept on file solely for these purposes.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

How many sessions will I need?

Clients are free to determine the number of sessions they wish to attend based on their personal circumstances. However, the most successful therapy outcomes are often a result of regular sessions, which encourage behavioural change. For initial treatment, I recommend up to 6 weekly or fortnightly sessions. Extended intervals between sessions can diminish counselling effectiveness and consume precious session time recapping the events of the intervening weeks. Consistent and regular work without long breaks increases the likelihood of success. Once the initial behavioural changes are implemented, monthly maintenance sessions can be beneficial. I also recommend a 6-month mental health review and check-up to keep you informed about any significant changes in your mental health.
